Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer or Energetics Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Space Systems location in Promontory, Utah. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Propulsion Systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Design manufacturing processes for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.
  2. Design arrangement of machines and tools within the facility to ensure safety and efficiency.
  3. Implement qualification and change management processes to meet customer requirements.
  4. Understand and mitigate all safety risks associated with the processes, ensuring compliance with Hazards Operation Standard (HOPs) and DOD4145.26 ATF.
  5. Collaborate with Hazards Analysis and Cross Functional Engineering groups in process design and setup.
  6. Develop energetic processes with safety interlocks, standardization, and remote operation considerations.
  7. Design sequence of operations and quality control procedures affecting product performance.
  8. Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  9. Support cross-functional investigation teams focusing on root cause analysis, process failure modes, and non-conformances.
Basic Qualifications

For Senior Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Completing or completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a STEM field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Additional Qualifications:

  • For Sr. Principal level: Master’s degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of systems engineering experience.
  • Major in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite for security clearance.
Salary Range

$58,800.00 - $88,200.00

This range is a guideline; actual salary depends on factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional benefits include potential overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives, along with health benefits, paid holidays, PTO, and more.
