Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer or Energetics Manufacturing Engineer for our Space Systems location in Promontory, Utah. The successful candidate will join Northrop Grumman’s Propulsion Systems team.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Design manufacturing processes for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.
  2. Design layout of machines and tools within the facility to ensure safety and efficiency.
  3. Implement qualification and change management processes to meet customer requirements.
  4. Understand and mitigate safety risks associated with processes, ensuring compliance with Hazards Operation Standard (HOPs) and DOD4145.26 ATF.
  5. Collaborate with Hazards Analysis and Cross-Functional Engineering groups in process design and setup.
  6. Develop energetic processes incorporating safety interlocks, standardization, and remote operation features.
  7. Design sequences of operations and quality control procedures affecting product performance.
  8. Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  9. Support investigation teams focusing on root cause analysis, process failure modes, and non-conformances.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer
  • Must be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • For senior level: Must have a Master’s degree with 7 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of systems engineering experience.
Additional Information

Salary Range: $58,800 - $88,200. Compensation considers experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and PTO. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to change.
