Job summary

Amtrak is seeking an experienced executive to set strategic direction for enterprise-wide security projects, policies, and programs. You will develop and manage IT security across the organization, perform risk assessments, and lead incident response planning while coordinating with business leaders.

The role requires strong governance, audits, and training capabilities, plus proven experience leading large security initiatives and teams across complex environments.

Qualifications

  • Plus 9 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain security standards, procedures, and guidelines; conduct business impact analyses and internal investigations of security violations.
  • Interface with business and IT leaders, providing security briefings, consulting on data classification, and supporting application and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead initiatives, including incident response preparedness, risk & control readiness, resilience metrics and reporting, compliance oversight, security programs, and business continuity and recovery readiness across the organizations.

Job Summary

Set direction for enterprise-wide security projects, strategies, and policies. Develop, execute, and manage data and network security across the organization, including implementing security policies, breach procedures, and audits. Perform security architecture reviews, and prepare and present status reports, metrics, and risk analysis scenarios.

Essential Functions

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 9 years of relevant work experience.

  • Plus 11 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive experience in IT and security work, including creating and implementing enterprise-wide IT security strategies
  • Strong relationship management skills, maintaining productive, cost-effective relationships with vendors
  • Experience tracking IT security trends and developments, conducting security audits, and synthesizing information into actionable reports
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and projects, meeting deadlines and staying within budget
  • Expertise in developing and implementing IT security training programs and leading internal security investigations
Environmental Conditions/Physical Demands

The salary/hourly range is $149,400.00 - $193,644.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
