Overview

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems team provides electrical systems engineering to develop guidance systems and flight avionics solutions across the Raytheon portfolio. Our core responsibilities include architecture, analysis, requirements development, integration, and testing for missile guidance and flight avionics hardware. The Sr. Principal Advanced Guidance Section/Avionics Tech Lead will manage cross‑discipline teams through product development, provide technical guidance, supervise project commitments, manage suppliers, and lead proposal efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Guide a team through hardware system lifecycle phases including design, analysis, and documentation of subsystem requirements and test plans.
  • Architect new electronic systems using RF/RADAR, navigation/IMU/GPS, digital, and power technologies.
  • Conduct peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert and present findings to peers, management, and government customers.
  • Lead root‑cause failure investigations and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers across multiple programs.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams and supplier commitments.
  • Support proposal development and manage proposal timelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with a minimum of 10 years of flight avionics experience.
  • 10 years of experience in electrical hardware development, subsystem and systems engineering, requirement development, or requirement validation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued DoD Secret security clearance required prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in missile guidance electronics subsystems including antennas, analog RF cards, digital cards, and configurable logic.
  • Experience working with missile or similar systems.
  • Experience in Earn Value Management System (EMVS) and Cost Account Management (CAM).
  • Knowledge of mixed‑signal electronics and DOD hardware development process.
  • Ability to manage cross‑functional teams and drive suppliers to meet commitments.
  • Experience with Model‑Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • Practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle and proposal development.
Security Clearance
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
