Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leader in sustainable packaging, seeks a Sr. Pricing / Costing Analyst to drive pricing decisions for complex accounts.

You will build scalable tools, improve reporting, and support bids, renewals, and profitability reviews with data-driven insights. The role partners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Project Management to optimize pricing, analyze cost drivers, and deliver actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience in estimating, pricing, costing, commercial finance, analytics, or a related business function
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulas, Power Query, and VBA/macros
• Experience building analytical tools, reports, models, or dashboards that support business decision making
• Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity
• Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to real business needs
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow through on priorities

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve pricing and costing models that increase pricing speed, accuracy, and consistency.
• Maintain, enhance, and deliver recurring pricing and operational reports on established schedules, ensuring business stakeholders receive accurate and timely information for decision-making.
• Support bids, contract renewals, profitability reviews, and other commercial initiatives through thoughtful analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Project Management teams to support pricing decisions and resolve business challenges.
• Analyze cost drivers, pricing structures, and profitability trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, self-service analytics, AI-enabled tools, and practical technology solutions.
• Help expand the use of QlikCloud, Alteryx, Power Platform, Excel automation, and other approved tools to reduce manual work and improve decision-making.
• Develop repeatable reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility and responsiveness across the business.
• Manage contractual price increase and decrease movements with accuracy, consistency, and clear audit support.
• Act as a champion of continuous improvement by challenging inefficient processes and proposing better ways of working.

The Sr. Pricing / Costing Analyst leads advanced commercial and cost analytics that guide pricing decisions for complex customer accounts and support margin protection, bid quality, and customer profitability. This role supports bids, contract renewals, profitability reviews, and day-to-day pricing operations by building scalable tools, improving reporting, and helping the team work more efficiently through practical use of technology. What You Need To Succeed

• Working knowledge of QlikCloud, Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar analytics and automation tools
• Experience building automated workflows, self-service reporting, or repeatable controls that improve accuracy and reduce cycle time
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies with a practical focus on business applications
• Ability to explain data clearly through visuals, summaries, and practical recommendations
