Job summary

Mavensoft Technologies is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer for a Denver-based role with remote work eligibility requiring local presence. The contractor position spans 8 months as a W2 contract, focusing on building and optimizing Power BI solutions, data models, and security across diverse data sources.

You will collaborate with business users and data analysts to gather requirements, design data models, implement security, and deliver interactive reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing solutions using Power BI.

Our Client is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to assist with our BI Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the Business Intelligence (BI) Program by developing and supporting Power BI solutions.
• Collaborate with business users and data analysts to gather requirements and understand business objectives for reports, visualizations, and underlying data models.
• Identify relevant data sources and attributes for use in reporting and data models.
• Use Excel at an intermediate level, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Reverse engineer processes originally developed by business users by deconstructing existing Excel formulas, pivot tables, and data analyses to interpret business requirements based on existing manual processes.
• Identify and suggest efficiency improvements and logic optimizations for existing business processes.
• Design and document efficient conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business requirements.
• Establish reusable semantic data models within Power BI.

• Prepare for meetings, screen-share, and conduct working sessions, including discussions of backlog item statuses and gathering additional or changing requirements.
• Collaborate remotely with colleagues and attend in-person meetings at State offices when required.
