Your Opportunity + Impact

The Sr. Designer will apply intermediate to advanced engineering and/or landscape architecture principles to complete design computations, prepare technical reports, and develop design plans and details. The Sr. Designer is expected to work in an almost completely autonomous manner, making significant project decisions based on their expertise and manager’s approval. This role requires proficiency in all required software used by LDG and minimal supervision from project managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient in CAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, InRoads, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and related software to develop accurate, clear, and deliverable drawings.
  • Review work for accuracy, make corrections from red lines, and backcheck drawings.
  • Write specifications, review submittals, and coordinate project submissions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of multi-discipline drawing sets, including collaboration with technical, administrative, and design staff.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverable quality and reduce errors and omissions.
  • Research, interpret, and apply design standards, regulations, codes, and permit requirements to projects.
  • Create standard details independently as directed.
  • Review shop drawings and working drawings from contractors.
  • Assist with design calculations, quantity take-offs, review technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Not applicable.

Qualifications

  • Strong desire to expand knowledge and undertake new responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, InRoads (Surfaces/Templates), Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other relevant software.
