Job Summary

Repairs, maintains, inspects and installs one or more major mechanical equipment such as RPD, piping, drainage, venting, and medical gas equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repairs mechanical system such as plumbing, medical gas system and medical gas outlets using appropriate hand and power tools to keep hospital equipment and facilities in effective working order.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspection on hospital equipment in accordance with departmental procedures and/or manufacturer’s specification in order to ensure reliability of equipment.
  • Complete work reports and/or inputs appropriate information on completed work in computer system in accordance to departmental procedures in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies and other purpose.
  • Be able to coordinate large projects by laying out the project, planning materials and time needed and overseeing the work of others to ensure effective completion.
Qualifications
  • 5 years commercial plumbing experience.
  • Valid CT Plumbing license.
  • Brazing certification, Medi gas license, Backflow certification, OE2 license, F2 license and Health Care preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hazards and accident prevention.
  • Comply with OSHA standard for hot work.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and plumbing diagrams.
