Job summary

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, Engineers & Planners, Inc. in Orlando seeks a Sr. Permitting Coordinator to work with the project team on processing permits for various projects.

You will handle due diligence, site investigations, and communications with regulatory agencies at multiple levels. Ideal candidates bring 4–5 years in a professional architectural/engineering environment, strong leadership, and the ability to manage several concurrent projects while maintaining compliance and timely

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience in a professional architectural/engineering firm or government affairs.
  • Understanding of architecture/engineering and building construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to persuasively speak before large groups.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships internally and externally.
  • Self-starter who can organize and implement several concurrent projects and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and reviewing Due Diligence Reports and Site Investigation Reports (SIR).
  • Processes permit, projects, reports and correspondences with regulatory agencies at local, state and federal levels, ensuring documentation and regulations compliance.
  • File reports and letters with regulatory agencies essential to daily business.
  • Addresses all questions and correspondences about permits and projects.
  • Meets with clients regarding all issues of the permit process.
  • Creates reports to comply with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Collects and reviews all plans, permits, and reports before sending to agencies.
  • Represents the company in meetings with agencies, vendors, clients, and industry personnel.
  • Attends meetings with agencies and personnel to expedite the permit process.
  • Assists in site visits related to pre-application meetings and SIRs.
  • Prioritizes projects considering timeline and budget.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a professional architectural/engineering firm, government affairs experience, strong leadership, analytical and negotiating skills.
  • This position requires an understanding of architecture/engineering and building construction, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to persuasively speak before large groups.
  • The ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships internally and externally.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and implement several concurrent projects and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Processes permit, projects, reports and correspondences with regulatory agencies and personnel at the local, state and federal level, assuring that all processes and procedures are documented and adhere to regulations.
  • File reports and letters with regulatory agencies and are imperative to daily business functions.
  • Addresses all questions and correspondences dealing with specific permits and projects.
  • Meets with clients regarding all issues of the permit process.
  • Creates reports needed to comply with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Collects and reviews all plans, permits, and reports before sending them to agencies.
  • Represents company in in-house and outside meetings with agencies, vendors, clients, and industry personnel.
  • Attends meetings with different agencies and personnel with the purpose of expediting the permit process.
  • Assists in site visits inherent with pre-application meetings and SIR’s.
  • Prioritizes projects in regard to timeline and budget.
Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to forty pounds.

Work Environment

Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
