Job summary

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects is seeking a Senior Permitting Coordinator to work with the project team to process permits for diverse projects. You will create and review due diligence, SIRs, and signage while coordinating with local, state, and federal authorities.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in an architectural/engineering setting, strong communication and leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple permit-driven tasks, build relationships, and expedite approvals.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience in a professional architectural/engineering firm or government affairs.
  • Understanding of architecture/engineering and building construction; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage concurrent projects and prioritize.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review Due Diligence Reports, Site Investigation Reports (SIR), and signage.
  • Process permits, projects, reports and correspondence with regulators at local/state/federal levels.
  • File reports and letters with regulatory agencies daily.
  • Address questions and correspondence on specific permits and projects.
  • Meet with clients regarding the permit process.
  • Create reports to comply with Federal, State, and local agencies.
  • Collect and review plans, permits, and reports before sending to agencies.
  • Represent the company in meetings with agencies, vendors, clients, and industry personnel.
  • Attend meetings with agencies to expedite the permit process.
  • Assist in site visits related to pre-application meetings and SIRs.

About this position

Description: The Sr. Permitting Coordinator works with the project team in processing permits for various projects.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a professional architectural/engineering firm, government affairs experience, strong leadership, analytical and negotiating skills.
  • This position requires an understanding of architecture/engineering and building construction, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to persuasively speak before large groups.
  • The ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships internally and externally.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and implement several concurrent projects and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities/Skills:

  • Responsible for creating and reviewing Due Diligence Reports, Site Investigation Reports (SIR), Signage
  • Processes permit, projects, reports and correspondences with regulatory agencies and personnel at the local, state and federal level, assuring that all processes and procedures are documented and adhere to regulations.
  • File reports and letters with regulatory agencies and are imperative to daily business functions.
  • Addresses all questions and correspondences dealing with specific permits and projects.
  • Meets with clients regarding all issues of the permit process.
  • Creates reports needed to comply with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Collects and reviews all plans, permits, and reports before sending them to agencies.
  • Represents company in in-house and outside meetings with agencies, vendors, clients, and industry personnel.
  • Attends meetings with different agencies and personnel with the purpose of expediting the permit process.
  • Assists in site visits inherent with pre-application meetings and SIR’s.
