We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Pediatric Congenital Cardiac Sonographer to join our dynamic cardiology team. This advanced role involves performing and interpreting complex echocardiographic studies on pediatric patients with congenital heart conditions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pediatric and fetal echocardiography, a deep understanding of congenital cardiac anatomy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This position will primarily work at the TMC location but will also provide coverage for all four community locations (TMC, Webster, Katy, and Woodlands).

Fetal Sonography Experience is preferred.

Position Summary: Operates ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of cardiac congenital procedures to produce images for patient diagnosis. Primary home location in Katy, Texas. May be required to work at other clinic locations in the Greater Houston Metroplex.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams.
  • Assists the physician to diagnose heart defects or the exact cause of impaired blood circulation.
  • Explains the procedures to patients.
  • Assists in the operation of ultrasound equipment and records results.
  • Adjusts parameters on equipment and reviews calibrations to ensure scans are reproducible.
  • Manages equipment, including upgrades and implementation of new applications, keeping systems up to date and compliant.
  • Provides in-service training to new and existing clinical staff and serves as a lead resource to faculty and sonographers.
  • Provides system troubleshooting for image archive and database systems.
  • Assists in establishing protocols; implements and standardizes for all clinical sites.
  • Attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • CV ARDMS or ARRT – Cardiovascular Pediatric echocardiography certification required.

Minimum Education: Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: 4 years of experience in diagnostic pediatric congenital cardiac ultrasound required.

Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement: Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
