Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking an ECHO Sonographer III to perform high-quality echocardiographic exams and TEEs for patients ranging from neonates to adults in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

You will collaborate with cardiology staff to ensure accurate diagnoses of congenital and acquired heart conditions, while also training technologists and fellows and maintaining lab equipment and supplies for optimal operation.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma from an ultrasound program or a bachelor's in biological science.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent (ARDMS/CCI) required.
• Minimum of 5 years' echo experience with 2 years in a pediatric environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiographic exams and collaborate with cardiology to diagnose complex pediatric heart conditions.
• Assist in training technologists, fellows, and visitors.
• Maintain Echo Lab supplies and equipment, ensuring safety and readiness for operation.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and work with staff to provide high-quality patient care.
• Engage in quality assurance and ensure training requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma from a school of ultrasound (e.g., Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or a bachelor's degree in biological science required
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR or Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer with Sonography Canada required
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an echo sonographer with two (2) years in a pediatric environment required

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiographic exams and collaborate with the cardiology staff to make accurate diagnoses of complex congenital and acquired pediatric heart abnormalities
• Assist and participate with the technical echocardiographic training of technologists, Pediatric Fellows, and visitors
• Perform daily operational maintenance of the Echo Lab supplies and equipment, and ensure all supplies and equipment are checked for deficiencies and safe for operation
• Demonstrate customer service skills and collaborate with departmental staff and other health care professions to ensure high-quality patient care
• Engage in quality assurance control on the team while monitoring the completion of all departmental, regulatory, and professional training requirements as designated
