We are looking for a motivated, challenge-seeking, innovative thinker to be a part of the Global Packaging Team across some of the most iconic brands in the industry: Barbie, Hot Wheels, UNO, and more! The Opportunity:

The Mattel Package Engineering team focuses on creating packaging structures throughout categories like Dolls, Vehicles, Action Figures, Games, and more. In this role, you will be involved in the package design process (not just production process) and be proficient in Artios CAD and 3D modeling (i.e., Solidworks). We need a confident individual able to drive the packaging process with exceptional project management and creative skills. We are seeking a team-centric individual that will work and collaborate with internal packaging design staff, marketing, product design, project managers, and our counterparts overseas. We encourage innovative thinkers and go-getters! This is a highly creative team working on a variety of package structures and consumer unboxing experiences.

What Your Impact Will Be:

As a Sr. Packaging Engineer, this individual will design and develop innovative structural packaging solutions to support worldwide product launches through a comprehensive knowledge of technology, materials, and competitive analysis. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to:

1. Create innovative structures to ensure competitive advantage
2. Design 3D structures that complement and protect complex products
3. Originate a package concept for cost estimate and provide different packaging solutions and cost savings
4. Work on many projects concurrently and adhere to packaging and business schedules
5. Work cohesively and collaboratively in a team environment; create standard engineering drawings and have direct experience working with single-layer and multi-layer paper materials plus multiple plastics and pulp materials.
6. Ideate and express ideas visually and verbally to the cross-functional teams.
7. Present ideas, problems, and solutions to management and peers
8. Answer questions on the fly in upper management meetings.
9. Act as liaison and creative engineering partner with our China team.
10. Participate in various team/department/management meetings. This is a very collaborative role requiring strong communication and partnering skills.
11. Support several toy fair requirements throughout the year.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Bachelor's degree. 3-5 years of Packaging or Industrial Design experience preferred.
2. Highly creative individual with the ability to develop innovative package solutions.
3. Knowledge of package manufacturing processes and capable of generating detailed packaging specs. Must have experience re-thinking package designs with new, innovative visions.
4. Experience working in a team environment, under tight deadlines, building strong relationships.
5. Proficiency in Artios CAD and 3-D modeling.
6. Experience originating a package concept for cost estimate and providing different packaging solutions and cost savings.
7. Current knowledge of competitive products at retail.
8. Create innovative structures to ensure competitive advantage.
9. Design 3D structures that complement and protect complex products.
10. Able to work on many projects concurrently.
11. Adherence to packaging/business schedules.
12. Present ideas, problems, and solutions to management and peers. In general, the ability to clearly communicate to any number of people.
13. Ability to create Mattel standard engineering drawings.
14. Strong organizational skills and proven ability to take initiative.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $92,000 and $116,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range; however, annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills, and experience.
