Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Memphis, TN is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to manage dock operations, oversee a team of drivers and dock staff, and ensure safe, efficient loading and palletized freight handling.

You will monitor performance metrics, hours, and overtime while maintaining DOT/OSHA compliance and a culture of service excellence. Shift is Mon-Fri 4PM-2AM; salary ranges $60,000-$75,000 with a 5-10% performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team in transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch or dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Strong leadership, hiring, training, mentoring capabilities.
• Customer-focused with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Able to multi-task with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willing to work 50 hours per week, including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock, including loading, forklift traffic, and picking/sorting palletized freight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and ensure KPI goals are met or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to customers.

Work Location and Hours

This is an Onsite position at our Memphis, TN Terminal.

Available Shift: Monday-Friday 4PM-2AM. Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average.
• Must be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment with multiple priorities.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Duties

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock. This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers. Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility key performance indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
