Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee outbound dock activities for the designated terminal section. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight, while guiding up to 30 local drivers and dock staff to meet a production schedule.

The role emphasizes driving performance, safety, and customer service excellence, with a focus on leveraging technology to optimize operations and ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA standards.

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock, including loading and forklift traffic management.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Build loads based on labor and freight availability using independent judgement.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring trailer cube and weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA standards and company policies.

LOCATION: 601 Johnson Rd., Charlotte, NC 28206 Shift: 3:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday-Saturday Salary: $60,000-$75,000

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)

Duties

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
