Job summary

Solve Industrial Motion Group is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day production workflows. The ideal candidate will lead a team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.

The role involves managing associates, performance metrics, and quality standards to ensure operational excellence. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and significant experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a Machining/Manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of people management and leadership experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma credentials and practical application experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the VP and General Manager, the Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day workflows within their assigned Production Departments. Acting as a culture-carrier for Solve, the ideal candidate will be an energetic leader, managing and motivating their Associates, while acting as a “player-coach” and rolling‑up their sleeves to manage various hands‑on responsibilities when needed. The Sr. Operations Manager will utilize their Lean Manufacturing experience and knowledge, working with a continuous improvement mindset to standardize and implement processes. The ideal candidate will flex their strong communication skills, while collaborating cross‑departmentally to ensure seamless transactions throughout the entire operation while being committed to delivering high‑quality products, in an efficient manner to support our customers. The Sr. Operations Manager will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills and lead by example, in this fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hire, train, coach and performance manage all Associates within the operation to maintain high performance, in line with team metrics and KPI’s
  • Manage production expectations and goals, in alignment with company standards and targets, to ensure the highest level of quality, accuracy and on‑time delivery and collaborate with other departments throughout the organization to accomplish business objectives
  • Responsible for development, justification, and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, efficiency, and capacity
  • Implement appropriate metrics, cost control and cost reduction initiatives
  • Optimizes the processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity and makes or recommends the modification of procedures, work instructions and/or operator instructions
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company manufacturing standards/methods and OSHA compliance standards are met, along with creating and maintaining any corresponding documentation and/or standard operating procedures
  • Act as a “change champion” for the operation, and revise any procedures as necessary to adapt to changes within the entire Solve organization
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ Years of experience working in a Machining/Manufacturing environment (preferably low volume/high mix)
  • 5+ Years of People Management and Leadership experience
  • Lean Six Sigma credentials and practical application experience
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Experience in an ERP system, and confident transitioning to others
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience having worked with bearings, belts and/or power transmission components
