Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN seeks a journeyman-level O&M Specialist II to autonomously perform maintenance and repairs on complex building systems. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, carpentry, and related equipment, following MLH mission and values.

A Brief Overview

What you will do

• Performs and oversees work orders for complex preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems at a journeyman’s level.
• Determines the nature of the problem and ensures that repairs at a journeyman’s level are completed in a timely and quality manner.
• Performs and guides the maintenance of machinery incidental to system operations at a journeyman’s level of expertise.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

• Required - Technical Degree or Diploma
• Preferred - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience Requirements

• Required - O&M Specialist II 1-3 years
• Required - Operations and maintenance 5-7 years

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

• Preferred - Licensed Journeyman Tennessee - Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance
• Required - Class D Driver License - Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
• Preferred - Class D Driver's License - Arkansas - Arkansas Motor Vehicle
• Preferred - Class R Driver's License - Mississippi - Mississippi Motor Vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and write and to communicate verbally and in writing with other individuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.

Supervision Provided by this Position

• No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position. Mentors and trains less experienced O & M Specialists.

Physical Demands

• Occasional work performed outdoors.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
• Occasional travel to other locations.
• The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
• The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
• The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
