Job Description

Performs basic nursing skills and completes assigned tasks including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, Point of Care Testing, and 1:1 observation of patients.

Job Responsibilities

1. Maintains areas within the department in a neat and orderly fashion.
2. Restocks as needed.
3. Transports patients.
4. Assists with patient care based on the area of assignment, including but not limited to vital signs, post-mortem care, phlebotomy, obtaining specimens, 12-lead EKG, understanding disaster principles, undressing patients, assisting with procedures, distributing meals where appropriate, assisting in feeding patients when necessary, and Point of Care testing.
5. Provides 1:1 observation of patients.
6. Performs department errands, including pharmacy, medical records, and central supply.
7. Gives report to the next shift.
8. Knows the Emergency Department Policy & Procedure related to disasters.
9. Acts as a female chaperone for GYN examinations as assigned.
10. Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completed course for Nursing Assistant or six (6) months of comparable hospital experience as a Nursing Assistant, or pre-hospital provider experience.
