Qualifications

  • Current DEA and prescriptive authority as required.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments (history and physical examinations).
  • Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, hyperlipidemia, valvular disease.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (ECG, echocardiograms, stress tests, labs).
  • Prescribe medications and adjust therapies per guidelines and state regs.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management and adherence.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
  • Document encounters accurately in the EMR.

Seeking nurse practitioner with cardiology experience who would be responsible for the outpatient management of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. Key responsibilities include the following:

Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinations.

  • Diagnose and manage common cardiac conditions such as:
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertension
  • Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Valvular heart disease
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory studies.
  • Prescribe medications and adjust therapies according to evidence-based guidelines and state regulations.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Work Experience
  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current RN and NP licensure.
