This role supports day-to-day network operations by performing network moves, adds, and changes; installing and configuring network equipment; and maintaining connectivity across user, office, and data center environments. The position serves as a first responder for service tickets, troubleshooting network issues, coordinating with users and technical teams, and supporting break/fix activities to restore service and meet performance targets. It also includes hardware testing, documentation, asset management, compliance with IT security standards, and support for scheduled maintenance or change-control activities.

What You'll Do:
Network Moves, Adds, and Changes
- Perform Move/Add/Change (MAC) activities, including required physical and logical network modifications.
- Install, move, terminate, and patch network connections in closets, offices, desks, conference rooms, and other end-user locations.
- Configure switch ports and complete necessary changes to support port activation.
Ticket Response and Customer Support
- Serve as first responder for ITSM and ServiceNow problem tickets.
- Contact customers, identify and research issues, take corrective action, coordinate additional support, document work performed, and close tickets.
- Administer the ITSM/ServiceNow network ticket queue, including break/fix incidents and service requests.
- Provide clear customer communication and take initial Tier 1 calls from customers and help desk teams.
- Support network break/fix activities to restore service and meet SLA and performance targets.
Network Operations and Troubleshooting
- Support network personnel with installation, modification, maintenance, and break/fix of network infrastructure and components.
- Monitor network activity, alerts, and data communications lines; isolate issues and perform first- or second-level problem determination.
- Activate and deactivate network lines according to established schedules.
- Coordinate with users, network teams, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Support off-hours, weekend, and change-control maintenance windows as needed.
Hardware Deployment, Testing, and Compliance
- Set up and test systems and hardware components before field deployment.
- Analyze failed equipment using established procedures to determine whether repairs can be completed in-house or require vendor return.
- Perform standard in-house repairs and component testing when applicable.
- Test returned vendor-repaired equipment to confirm proper operation.
- Ensure work complies with standard IT security rules and regulations.
Network Installation, Tools, and Documentation
- Physically install network assets, including switches, routers, firewalls, network tools, and test devices in network closets and data center cabinets.
- Configure network switches, tools, and testing devices.
- Complete circuit patching into switches.
- Perform network closet cleanup, switch port optimization, and survey work.
- Operate Layer 1-3 network test equipment.
- Monitor management-tool alerts and take appropriate action.
- Administer network asset, drawing, and documentation tools to support data integrity.
- Update and maintain AutoCAD and Visio drawings.
- Maintain organized network equipment storage areas and support equipment RMA activities as needed.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years of experience with network troubleshooting with routers, switches, firewalls, DNS servers
- 3+ years experience with LAN/WAN management
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
