Brown & Brown in Plano, TX is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our hybrid network infrastructure. You will lead architecture decisions, ensure security, scalability, and alignment with business needs, and document plans and configurations for ongoing operations.

The role requires 5+ years of network engineering, strong expertise in routing, switching, MPLS, Cisco/Palo Alto, and experience with Azure cloud services. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of network architecture/engineering experience as SME.
• 2+ years of experience with Azure services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business to determine IT network requirements.
• Translate requirements into network solutions.
• Present network solutions clearly to stakeholders.
• Create detailed network design docs and implementation plans.
• Execute plans with minimal business disruption.
• Develop network solutions aligned with security policies.
• Prepare reports and documentation on current network config.

Brown & Brown is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join our growing team in Daytona Beach, FL or Plano, TX.

The Senior Network Engineer's primary responsibilities include all planning, design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the B&B network Will form and follow a standards-based architecture and design philosophy to assure the overall health, security and scalability of the network infrastructure.

How You Will Contribute

• Works with the business to extract IT requirements to determine network solutions
• Analyzes business requirements and translates them into network solutions
• Articulates network solutions to the business in a clear and concise manner
• Produces detailed network design documentation, implementation plans and financial models
• Regularly executes implementation plans with minimal business impact
• Develops network solutions in alignment with security policies
• Produces engineering and installation plans to support new initiatives as well as prepare reports and documentation on the existing network configuration as required.
• Executes the full network planning, road mapping, design, implement, maintenance and optimization processes
• Introduces new network technologies into the business
• Oversees network implementations, ensuring adherence to security policies

Skills & Experience to be Successful

Required

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related degree or equivalent experience
• 5 + years’ experience in network architecture/engineering and considered a subject matter expert
• 2+ years of experience with Azure services

Preferred

• Expert knowledge of Routing and Switching Technologies
• Expert knowledge of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
• Expert knowledge and execution of Cisco, Palo Alto and other network security solutions
• Adept in telecommunications and data communications technologies
• Experience with Cloud based networking including Azure
