Job summary

Sabre Industries is seeking a qualified NDT Tech A to perform UT Level II inspections and related QA activities in our Texas manufacturing facility. You will inspect welds, read blueprints, and maintain rigorous documentation while upholding safety standards.

The role requires ASNT SNT TC-1A UT Level II certification and at least two years of relevant experience, with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying climates.

Qualifications

• ASNT SNT TC-1A UT Level II certification is required.
• Two years of experience as an NDT Tech A in Sabre Industries preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and prints.
• Proficient in English reading and writing; strong communication.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in open environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform UT Level II inspection per ASNT SNT TC-1A for AWS Weld Inspector.
• Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections per AWS D1.1.
• Cross-train in other Quality Control areas and fill in when needed.
• Ensure accurate and neat documentation and pass-down logs.
• Comply with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards at all times.
• Participate in training of UT Level I Inspectors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibility:

• Perform all inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector.
• Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1.
• Cross train in other areas of Quality Control Department and fill in when need arises.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed.
• Keep pass down log accurate.
• Comply with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards at all times.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with personnel of Quality Department and all departments at Sabre.
• Participate in the training process of UT Level I Inspectors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Two years’ experience within Sabre Industries as an NDT Tech A. Welding background a plus.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.
• High School/GED preferred but not required.
• Have the ability to perform work functions while standing for long periods of time.
• Have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Have the ability to climb and bend over in order to inspect.
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to all climates.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Be able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.
• Possess effective communication skills.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Certifiable to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector.
• Must be able to meet the AWS D1.1 requirements of a visual weld inspector.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded individual.
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
