Job Opportunity: Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician at Fleet Services, Cox Automotive

Shift: Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Fleet Services, a Cox Automotive company based in Indianapolis, is one of the largest fleet maintenance providers in the U.S. We offer on-site mobile maintenance and repair services for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, supported by over 50 service centers nationwide, a 24/7 call center, and scheduled/unscheduled fleet services.

We are currently hiring a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck systems including electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and more.
• Diagnose, test, and listen to equipment to identify malfunctions using specialized instruments.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and perform safety and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members, document work accurately, and use company tools and applications.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED, with 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with refrigerated equipment is required.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean 3-year MVR review.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

Certifications:

• Required within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609.
• Preferred: ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, A8, L1, L2.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and physical endurance skills.
• Ability to use various diagnostic and repair tools effectively.
• Logical reasoning to evaluate solutions and approaches.
