Job Overview

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. They perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continually learning new skills and maintaining high performance standards.

Responsibilities

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck components including electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and more.
3. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments, perform road tests, and identify issues accurately.
4. Manage parts inventory, operate company vehicle safely, and conduct safety checks.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, prioritize tasks, and document work thoroughly using company tools.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) and 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
• Pass DOT physical and background screening; valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Certifications & Skills

Preferred certifications include ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, L1, L2. Skills include effective communication, problem-solving, physical ability for labor, and use of diagnostic tools.
