Job summary

Thermo King, part of Trane Technologies, seeks an experienced Senior Test Engineer for the Application & Durability Testing Team in an on-site role in Minneapolis. You will own test development, execution, and reporting, coordinating with technicians to ensure accurate results and timely communication of outcomes.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, 5–7 years in engineering, and at least 3 years in a testing environment including HVAC/vehicle testing.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a relevant Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or similar).
• At least 3 years of experience in a testing environment (HVAC, NVH, vehicle testing, powertrain, aerospace, etc.).
• Experience with engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Hands-on experience in a technical setting, with fabrication, machining, and instrumentation skills a plus.

• Test planning and logistics support for Application & Durability.
• Coordination of prototype builds to support product verification and validation.
• Obtain, clarify, and adapt customer requirements to testing methods by collaborating with Design Verification Plan (DVP) owners.
• Develop product and build-specific test procedures, adapting standard work to the capabilities of the test articles.
• Provide hand-on technical support to the test facility, ensuring correct and efficient execution of the test plan.
• Create test reports that clearly and concisely communicate the outcomes of each test.

Where is the work: On-Site (5 days)

Thermo King is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our Application & Durability Testing Team. In close cooperation with our skilled technicians, the Senior Test Engineer will take ownership of test development, execution, and reporting for our application and durability test cells. Foresight, attention to detail, and hands-on skills are critical for this role. Successful candidates will have experience in a testing environment and new product development processes.
