Trane Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design commercial HVAC equipment and systems for the Trane Commercial Systems business. You will collaborate with multiple engineering and manufacturing teams to develop concepts and solve complex problems for sustainable products.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of engineering experience in design, validation testing, or root cause analysis. Domestic travel around 10% may be required.

  • Gather and understand customer requirements to guide design decisions.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve complex design problems for HVAC products.
  • Participate on project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost and schedule goals.
  • Create and maintain engineering docs, 3D models, BOMs, drawings and specs.
  • Conduct design FMEAs and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Deliver design outputs that meet project requirements.
  • Travel up to ~10% as needed.

Where is the work: Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the commercial HVAC equipment and systems that support our Trane Commercial Systems business. You will collaborate with multiple engineering and manufacturing teams, develop concepts for new and improved commercial HVAC products and solve complex technical problems, leading to production of sustainable new products.

What you will do:
  • Meet the needs of internal and external customers, through documenting, understanding and prioritizing customer requirements.
  • Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or to gauge appropriateness of product to various applications.
  • Participate on project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models, bills of materials, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.
  • Deliver technical designs to meet project and product requirements.
  • Overnight domestic travel may be required. Estimated travel is 10%.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2-years of engineering work experience in product design, validation testing and/or root cause analysis is required.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $65,200.00 - $118,860.00 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
