Amazon is hiring a Ground Support Equipment Engineer to lead design, analysis and testing of aerospace GSE for launch operations at Kennedy Space Center. The role requires extensive mechanical/electrical GSE development experience for satellite processing and will coordinate with multiple teams to meet stringent requirements.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mechanical engineering with strong FEA, CAD (NX) and GD&T skills, and is willing to travel up to 25% annually.

The ground support equipment (GSE) Engineer is the technical expert in design, analysis, and operation of aerospace and launch site GSE. This role interfaces directly with launch site engineers and management to develop GSE needed for new and existing processing facilities. Additionally, the Hardware Development Engineer will design, analyze, procure, manage vendors, run design reviews, establish acceptance criteria and commission hardware. This position maintains all phases of new and existing ground support equipment in support of Leo launch operations.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical setting and leads collaboration with other departments to reach the best solution to any problem. The candidate will have extensive experience with mechanical and electrical ground support equipment development for aerospace hardware integration and test, with particular focus on satellite processing.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The GSE Engineer will spend significant amounts of time collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to determine GSE needs. They will work with a team responsible for designing and procuring new hardware to support operations while maintaining existing GSE. They will support GSE efforts at the launch site and address root cause of failures and issues, getting hands on with the equipment and implement corrective actions and hardware modifications.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
