Job Description

• Respond quickly to priority requests according to workflow through prioritization and daily planning
• Compare incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records to verify information
• Responsible for receiving merchandise/product as they arrive at the DC
• Loading and unloading freight from Trailers/Containers/Box Trucks
• Enter information into our internal system to maintain up-to-date inventory
• Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
• Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication
• Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, correct incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products
• Perform and report cycle counts upon request

Job Summary

The Sr. Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting various departments by moving product, tracking inventory, and operating yard equipment after proper training. Equipment includes pallet jacks (manual and electric), forklifts (stand-up and order picker), and yard hostlers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to priority requests and plan daily workflow
• Verify shipment details and receive merchandise at the DC
• Load and unload freight from trailers and trucks
• Maintain inventory records in internal systems
• Verify incoming delivery quantities and quality
• Manage returns and documentation
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve shipment issues
• Conduct cycle counts as needed

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills & Abilities

• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts proficiently
• Pass MVR and practical competency tests for yard equipment
• Complete defensive driving course
• Work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Stand for 8-10 hours, with flexibility for overtime
• Familiarity with sports leagues and teams is a plus
• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments preferred
• Read and understand barcodes using RF scanning (preferred)
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Computer skills (preferred)
