Job description

The Middle Mile Marketing team is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Operations (Ops) Manager to lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of our marketing efforts. The Senior Marketing Ops Manager specializing in Adobe Marketo will be responsible for partnering with marketing stakeholders on strategies with overall business objectives, overseeing marketing operations and driving scalable, data-driven marketing initiatives across both Relay and AFP. They will play a pivotal role in driving our WW marketing technology. This position requires a deep understanding of Marketo's capabilities and a strategic mindset to optimize its use across the marketing funnel. They will be responsible for configuring and maintaining complex marketing automation workflows, developing sophisticated lead scoring models, and creating personalized campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences. Their expertise will be crucial in ensuring data quality, maintaining compliance with international privacy regulations, and continuously innovating our marketing automation strategies. As a leader in this space, they will be the primary owner to raise the bar on data integrity, standardize best practices, and identify opportunities to enhance the scalability and efficiency of our global marketing initiatives. This role demands a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills to elevate our marketing automation capabilities and drive measurable results across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate must possess a deep technical acumen and demonstrate expertise in data pipeline architecture, governance frameworks, and systems integration. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data governance protocols, ensuring data quality and compliance across marketing technology and teams. This includes designing and overseeing data pipelines between multiple systems, implementing data validation processes, and creating automated workflows that maintain data integrity across the marketing ecosystem. The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between technical requirements and marketing objectives, with the ability to architect solutions that scale across global operations while maintaining strict data security and privacy standards.

The Middle Mile Transportation organization builds complex software solutions that work across our vendors, warehouses and carriers to optimize moving freight across our network to create a positive customer experience. Within Middle Mile, Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) is a program that enables entrepreneurs to start and grow their trucking business alongside Amazon, with exclusive training, ability to hire from their local communities, and long-term growth potential. Relay Product & Tech offers a suite of technology products facilitate package movement throughout our global facility network. Our customers are carriers (trucking companies), their drivers, and internal Amazon Transportation Services teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • 5+ years of professional experience with marketing automation tools / systems
  • Experience with Marketo, Salesforce, Marketing Analytics software and tag management, data analysis tools (Tableau, Excel, SQL, etc.)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing, or advertising, especially in the digital media space
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, including experience developing written documents in a professional setting
  • Proven ability to influence others
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial culture
  • Strong drive for results and ability to take calculate risks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, marketing experience highly preferred
  • Track record of successfully scaling marketing or communication campaigns
  • Strong understanding of database structure, data hygiene, and analytics
  • Demonstrated experience owning and running the governance of a large marketing automation or marketing analytics platform
  • Experience and understanding of B2B marketing strategies for acquisition and engagement
  • Freight / transportation industry experience highly preferred but not required
  • Ability to quantify ROI on efforts
  • Experience managing complex processes working across cross functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading projects for large scale automation platforms and / or digital communication tools with global stakeholders
  • Experience with Salesforce and marketing automation tools such as Pardot or Marketo
  • Experience with marketing analytics processes including campaign tracking, pixel management and tag management and experience with marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with CRM, segmentation, and / or personalization
  • Experience with lead management best practices including scoring and grading
  • Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, PR, Design and Legal
