Job summary

Continental Group Sector ContiTech seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to initiate, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and automated machinery to support new and existing products. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing engineering activities to meet plant targets and drive continuous improvement.

The position is full-time during regular business hours and may require on-call status with some travel.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in industrial or mechanical engineering required.
  • 5–10 years of industrial experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Works safely and adheres to EHS policies.
  • Knowledge of operating methods and procedures for the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform job functions meeting supervisor expectations.
  • Cooperates with supervision and colleagues to follow policies and procedures.
  • Analytical thinking to introduce innovations to production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Translate production requirements into actionable process designs and automated machinery.
  • Design and implement factory processes and equipment following lean principles and standards.
  • Ensure installation, startup, validation, handover, and continuous improvement of processes and equipment.
  • Maintain records to monitor and report manufacturing process performance and implement control measures.

Job description

Job Summary

Initiate, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and automated machinery to support new and existing products. Plan, implement, and maintain relative manufacturing engineering activities in order to meet plant targets, initiating and implementing action plans for continuous improvement of relevant processes.

This position is full-time during regular business hours and is on-call when necessary. Some travel may be required for this position.

How you will make an impact
  • Translate production manufacturing process requirements into actionable process designs and automated machinery.
  • Design and implement overall factory processes and equipment according to sound lean principles and standards, supporting necessary industrialization activities of associated and affected product specifications.
  • Ensure the installation, start‑up, validation, production handover, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automated machinery according to applicable production control plans and standards.
  • Maintain records for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting manufacturing engineering and production process performance, initiating and implementing control measures to improve manufacturing engineering and production process performance.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in industrial or mechanical engineering required.
  • 5‑10 years of industrial experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Works safely and keeps work area clear of potential hazards, knows and understands company EHS policies.
  • Knowledge of operating methods and procedures as they relate to the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned job functions in a manner that consistently meets supervisor expectations.
  • Deals effectively and cooperatively with established policies and procedures; interfaces and cooperates with first‑line supervision effectively.
  • Analytical thinking to introduce new innovations to production processes.
The Environment
  • Safety is the highest priority and safety procedures/guidelines must always be adhered to. This includes safety wear such as safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, etc.
  • The job is within a non‑climate‑controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
  • The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.
Physical Requirement
  • Occasional stand, drive, and demands of wrist movement, grasping, lifting, and fine manipulations.
  • Frequent sitting, walking.
  • Constant vision demands.
