Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in California is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations on-site at our Brea facility. You will drive continuous improvement and collaborate with a team of engineers to resolve production challenges.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least 5 years in aerospace manufacturing, with GD&T, CAD (SolidWorks), ERP experience, and knowledge of AS9100/NAS/MIL standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry specifications and standards (AS9100, NAS, MIL).
  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations on site.
  • Perform MRB dispositions.
  • Set up and update manufacturing routers.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve production challenges.
  • Apply knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer,you'll be part of our Aerospace team working as an onsite employee.' You'll getto support production operations and drive continuous improvement across thefacility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 'Supporting day-to-day manufacturingoperations.
  • 'Performing Material Review Board (MRB)dispositions.
  • 'Setting up and updating manufacturingrouters.
  • 'Identifying and implementing processimprovements to enhance quality and productivity.
  • 'Collaborating effectively with amotivated, team-oriented group of engineers to resolve production challenges.
  • 'Collaborating directly withmanufacturing personnel to resolve production issues and implement processimprovements.
  • Applying a strong understanding ofaerospace manufacturing processes and industry standards.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g.,Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering) from an accrediteduniversity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospacemanufacturing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry specifications andstandards (e.g., AS9100, NAS, MIL)
  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning andTolerancing)
  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of aerospace fastener manufacturing
  • Understanding of metal forming processes, includingheading, nut forming, and progressive die presses
  • Experience with conventional and CNC machining
  • Familiarity with destructive and non-destructivetesting methods for aerospace fasteners
  • Understanding of aerospace surface treatments,including plating, solid film lubricants, and cetyl alcohol
  • Knowledge of heat treatment processes and their impacton material properties

Salary Range:

The base pay range for this position in California is$99,300.00 - $134,299.00/year. Pay is based on market location and may varydepending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on paymentmay be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a fullrange of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the positionoffered.
