Qualifications

  • This position falls under ITAR; U.S. person required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution Aerospace division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $99000 - $ 125,000 a year.

Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

*This role must report on-site at our Torrance, CA Mfg. facility. Relocation is not available for this role.

What you’ll do:
  • Be a subject matter expert in assigned cell (for example, SMT Automation), driving operational excellence within the process as a technical expert.
  • Drive improvements in the cell related to machine uptime, setup, solder or placement defects, and solderability.
  • Increase accuracy and utilization of various machines within cell through optimizing/creating programs and developing fixturing/tooling improvements.
  • Serve as the manufacturing engineering lead for assigned NPI programs, ensuring early risk identification and readiness. Lead PFMEA, control plan development, and manufacturing readiness reviews, as needed.
  • Lead complex cross functional problem-solving involving process capability, yield loss, chronic downtime, or safety risk. Apply advanced root cause techniques and ensure corrective actions are systematically implemented and sustained.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and ERP routers comply with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Support development of internal procedures to be concise, clear and accurate.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate process and equipment safety risks. Support a safety culture through participation as a MESH element champion.
  • Support site level CI initiatives, including growth, throughput, productivity and cost out projects. Serve as a technical leader in RIEs, Kaizen events, and CI Week activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing data (routers, standards, labor, and cycle times) is accurate, maintained, and auditable in ERP system.
  • Investigate new technologies and lead the technical review and procurement process for new Capital Equipment.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ yrs experience providing engineering support to a manufacturing work environment .
  • Basic Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, CAD/CAM or other similar software.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred:

  • Mechanical , Mfg, or Electrical Engineering degree.
  • Experience with PCBAs, IPC-610, Electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience programming and working SMT equipment ( Stencil Printer, Pick & Place, Reflow oven, AOI, SPI)
  • Previous Aerospace Experience.
  • Experience with ERP for process control (SAP ECC preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Ability to gather and analyze relevant data of manufacturing operations and processes in order to optimize throughput, reduce scrap, and improve quality while ensuring the safety of plant personnel.
  • Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.
