Job summary

True North Consultants is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Milwaukee to develop, implement, and improve production processes for new and existing products. You will bridge design engineering and the floor, maintain production capability, improve quality, reduce costs, and maximize throughput.

The role requires a BS in Engineering (MS preferred) and 5–12 years in manufacturing engineering within a large assembly environment.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering is required; a master's is preferred.
• 5–12 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a large assembly operation.
• CAD skills with Pro-E/Creo and proficient MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Access).
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of production processes and documentation for new products and changes.
• Plan and support introduction of products to manufacturing floors; optimize line balance and throughput.
• Develop operation standards for best assembly methods.
• Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement to reduce waste and costs.
• Troubleshoot production line issues and mitigate risk to ISO compliance.
• Lead line/cell layout and tooling/part flow improvements; justify capital equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering, a Master's would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Pro‑E / Creo would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Ideally, prior experience establishing in assembly line from concept into production
