Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Milwaukee to develop, implement, and improve factory processes. You will bridge design engineering and the production floor to enable new product introductions and changes, while maintaining capability, quality, cost, safety, and throughput.

The role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and requires strong Lean manufacturing knowledge and hands-on problem solving in a large assembly environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS preferred.
• 5–12 years of manufacturing engineering experience in large assembly.
• Proficient CAD (Pro‑E/Creo), Word, Excel, and Access.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience bringing concepts to production on an assembly line.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on setting up the assembly line; establish processes and documentation.
• Translate design handoffs into manufacturing execution and product introduction.
• Plan and lead product introductions; integrate new products into existing lines.
• Develop Operation Method Standards for assembly.
• Apply Lean/Continuous Improvement to reduce waste and improve safety.
• Troubleshoot line problems and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead design improvements in line/cell layout and tooling.
• Justify capital equipment and advance ergonomic practices.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering, a Master's would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Pro‑E / Creo would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Ideally, prior experience establishing in assembly line from concept into production
