Overview
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and seeking motivated individuals who want to support and shape this organization as we grow.
GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With over 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes, and fuel tanks.
Position Location: This position is located at our GD Lincoln West facility.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Determines parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Estimates production times, staffing, and costs to aid management decision-making.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other relevant information to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with vendors to determine specifications, arrange equipment, materials, and parts procurement.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree & 5-7 years of experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
