Job summary

Quantic in Culver City, CA, seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize OhmegaPly RCM and laminate processes. You will lead process improvements, analyze data, and drive efficiency while ensuring quality throughout manufacturing and testing stages.

The role requires collaboration with plant operations, quality, and safety teams, and a strong background in lean methods, RCCA, and 8D reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Min 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Experience using IPC Quality Standards and MIL Testing Standards.
  • CAM350 or similar MCAD/ECAD tools; SolidWorks required.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve existing manufacturing systems and equipment to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collect and analyze production data using statistical methods to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
  • Conduct product and material testing for internal teams and external customers; coordinate with testing services.
  • Provide quality assurance guidance throughout manufacturing and testing to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Support RCCA investigations and 8D reports in response to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, production records, and testing reports.
  • Lead improvement initiatives involving manufacturing equipment to increase reliability and performance.
  • Evaluate safety-focused processes to minimize risks and improve workplace safety.

Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of the OhmegaPly® RCM and OhmegaPly® Laminate processes. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing procedures and equipment used in operative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously improve existing manufacturing systems and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and reduce overall costs.
  • Collect and analyze production data using statistical methods to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that increase productivity.
  • Conduct product and material testing for internal teams and outside Customers. Coordinate with external testing services when necessary.
  • Provide quality assurance guidance throughout manufacturing and testing stages to ensure compliance with established procedures, standards, and techniques.
  • Support the Quality department in developing 8D reports and conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations in response to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation, including production records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and testing reports for products and materials.
  • Lead improvement initiatives involving manufacturing equipment (hardware and/or software) to increase reliability and performance.
  • Evaluate and implement safety-focused processes and procedures to minimize operational risks and enhance workplace safety for production staff and facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support related to OhmegaPly, including the processing of customer parts through the Ohmega Etch Process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Min 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering environment
  • Microsoft Office - Proficient
  • Experience using IPC Quality Standards
  • Experience performing MIL Testing Standards
  • CAM350 or similar MCAD/ECAD tools
  • SolidWorks (3D Modeling)
Skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management.
  • Proficient with computers and information technology.
  • Hardware Skills (Power tools, Soldering Iron, DAQS, Power Supplies, Testing equipment).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, SPC, or similar tools.
