Calqulate Metrics Ltd in the Kansas City, MO area seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Area Manager to lead a core production zone in a modern, air-conditioned plant.

You will own safety, quality KPIs, employee development, and continuous improvement while guiding daily operations on the floor up to 50% of your time. You’ll report to the plant leadership, drive data collection and reporting, optimize scheduling, and develop objectives with a focus on cost savings and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• At least five years of manufacturing operations management experience
• Experience in process-oriented manufacturing environments (chemical, coating, refinery, food, beverage, packaging, etc.)
• Passion for a safety-first mentality
• Experience with CI functions (scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies)
• Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Responsabilités

• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and data collection.
• Optimize scheduling and changeover activities.

• Taking ownership of safety, quality, KPIs, employee development, productivity and continuous improvement of a delegated area of the plant
• Participating within the management team to meet plant objectives
• Completing daily, weekly and monthly reporting and data collection
• Optimizing scheduling and changeover activities
• Developing and attaining goals, objectives and targeted measurables of the plant related to production
• Holding others accountable to established goals and directives
• Identifying process improvements to decrease scrap, increase efficiencies and find cost savings
• Coaching, mentoring, developing and leading direct and indirect reports
• Adjusting manning as needed, based on production schedules and goals
• Completing root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures
• Other duties as directed by the manager

Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, be able to hold others accountable and enjoy floor presence. Although more initially, individuals should enjoy spending up to 50% of their time on the manufacturing floor, supporting a 24/7/365 operation.

REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Manufacturing Area Manager:

• 1. Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field
• 2. Minimum of five years of similar manufacturing operations management experience
• 3. Experience working in process-oriented manufacturing environments (examples include chemical, coating, refinery, food, beverage, packaging, etc.)
• 4. Passion for supporting a safety first mentality
• 5. Experience completing CI functions, including scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies, etc.
• 6. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
• 7. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• 1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 2. ERP experience
• 3. Experience working in highly automated environments
• 4. Lean Certification
• 5. Willing to relocate in the future for promotional opportunities
• 6. Supervision experience in non-union work environments
