Job summary

Health Care Service Corp. (HCSC) is seeking an experienced actuary to lead the development, review and maintenance of models across pricing, underwriting, statistics and forecasting. You will manage cross-functional projects and present analyses to drive strategic decisions.

The role requires ASA/MAAA, 5+ years in health actuarial work, and 2+ years in management. Remote work from home five days a week with we ll-defined incentive plans accompanies a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• ASA and MAAA certifications required or pursued; membership in AA actuaries.
• 5+ years actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• 2+ years in a management/lead capacity.

Responsibilities

• Managing the implementation, maintenance and critical review and analysis of models, studies and systems using actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions.
• Developing complicated models and teaching others how to develop models.
• Developing written and oral presentations that drive the delivery of information for decision making.
• Managing complex day-to-day projects that may include non-actuarial departments and external parties.
• Must possess and demonstrate a deep understanding of multiple actuarial areas and at least one business segment.

Job Summary

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• Compliance with the membership requirements for each professional designation.
• At least 5 years of actuarial experience in the health insurance or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a management/lead capacity.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
• PC proficiency to include Word and Excel.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Access, SQL, Visual Basic or other programming skills.
• Medicare part D experience is welcome.
• Medicaid experience is welcome.

Base Pay Range $112,200.00 - $202,600.00 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

This is a REMOTE role work from your home 5 days a week.
