SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Sr. Manager of Supplier Quality and Tooling reports to the Group Director of Quality within the Supply Chain function and supports the LMR (Land Mobile Radio) and Video Access and Security businesses.

Job Description

This individual acts as a "change agent" partnering with internal executive stakeholders and suppliers to develop and execute best practices across the supply base. The Sr. Manager of Supplier Quality and Tooling determines and assesses supplier risk profiles using leading and lagging indicators to resolve key supplier and commodity issues, builds on global quality standards and processes, provides training on key competencies, and manages other project activities. Additionally, this role involves building, inspiring, empowering, and guiding the supplier quality and tooling teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to Motorola Solutions customers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure supplier quality meets expectations and objectives.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans for the supplier quality organization.
3. Qualify processes and quality systems during new part development or supplier changes.
4. Champion early supplier engagement, capacity, and quality improvements.
5. Ensure supplier quality partners with sourcing, commodity management, and engineering during supplier selection and recommends preferred suppliers.
6. Perform regular process audits at suppliers to validate quality systems.
7. Implement APQP with key suppliers.
8. Manage supply part approval during product evolution through PPAP.
9. Implement supplier PFMEAs, quality assurance plans, and controls.
10. Drive data-driven RCCA on supplier quality issues.
11. Set analysis expectations with suppliers and review KPIs regularly.
12. Develop material and process robustness plans for critical parts.
13. Develop and monitor supplier tooling KPIs.
14. Collaborate with engineering and suppliers for timely development and start-up of new molds/tools.
15. Champion design for manufacturing reviews and optimize tooling proposed by suppliers.
16. Ensure active participation in FOT activities at suppliers.
17. Analyze design/development/manufacturability of parts.
18. Lead part design reviews to mitigate tooling-related issues.
19. Partner with commodity managers on tooling strategy and cost savings.
20. Drive RCCA for tooling issues and participate in sourcing decisions.
21. Ensure tooling plans are developed, executed, and qualified appropriately.
22. Lead, mentor, and develop supplier quality and tooling teams.

Preferred Qualified Skills:

• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred)
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and KPIs
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including 8D
• Deep understanding of PPAP, APQP, DOE, FMEA, SPC, and Gage R&R
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Target Base Salary Range: $120,300 - $240,600
