Sr. Manager, Solutions Architect (Customer Engineering)(Remote)

Our AI/ML capabilities are now at the forefront of what’s possible in banking. (e.g., Eno). The Capital One Software team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud or migrating to the cloud.

The Capital One Software team is looking for experienced and collaborative individual contributors who are technically skilled and can work directly with the customers to engineer, deliver and successfully implement solutions and products within their data ecosystem. In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of your team. Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and deliver technical engagements with enterprise customers including envisioning business and technical solutions, delivering architectural design and rapid prototypes.

2. Drive architecture/design reviews focused on business and technical requirements.

3. Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, operating system environment and enterprise system integrations.

4. Plan, manage and deliver customer projects.

5. Support architecture governance by providing subject matter expertise.

6. Work with business and product partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems, and determine priority of needs.

7. Travel to customer locations as needed to implement products and solutions, develop and nurture customer relationships, and manage key stakeholder communication.

8. Enforce company policies in areas of development methodology, architecture, security, change and configuration management, compliance, and HR.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree

2. At least 6 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design

3. At least 2 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology

2. 7+ years of experience in software engineering

3. 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations

4. 5+ years of experience in building and managing infrastructure, databases, networking and CI/CD Tooling (K8s, Artifactory, Harness, Docker, ECS, etc.)

5. 8+ years of experience architecting, designing, and/or delivering scalable and decoupled systems in a heavily regulated technology environment

6. 3+ years of experience working with internal and external business clients

7. 3+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations

8. 1+ years of experience working on data management platforms in areas such as Data Discovery, Data Classification, Data Lineage and Data Catalog.

9. 1+ years of experience with Cryptography and Quantum Computing.

10. Experience to engaging, influencing and driving initiatives by partnering with technology executives

11. Experience mentoring software engineers or architects

12. Experience in a regulated environment (HIPAA, PCI, Privacy, etc)

13. Ability to communicate at all levels in the organizations with required technical depth and breadth

14. AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate, GCP or Azure)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
