About The Role

The BD Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) seeks a technical Sr. Engineering Manager to build and maintain a software platform that enables product innovation and customer engagement within a unified BD experience.

This role requires an enthusiastic leader with a mix of intelligence, integrity, and technical skill to mentor, hire, and solve complex problems. You will partner with multiple teams to understand their needs and advise accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and manage a team of high-performing software engineers to design, develop, and scale platform services that meet business and technical needs.
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and modern development practices.
• Identify, attract, and develop talented engineers.
• Apply API-first design principles to create modular, reusable, and well-documented services.
• Champion Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in architecture and implementation, ensuring strong domain models and boundary contexts.
• Leverage serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Fargate) for scalable, cost-effective services with minimal infrastructure overhead.
• Ensure best practices in engineering, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and monitoring for high-quality releases.
• Collaborate with product management, architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver features seamlessly.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resource usage for cost efficiency.
• Work collaboratively to ensure shared understanding of complex topics.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across the department.

Experience Required

• 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 4+ years in leadership or management roles.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with production workloads in AWS cloud services, including serverless computing (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).
• Expertise in programming languages such as Go, Java, .Net.
• Deep understanding of API-first development and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and event streaming technologies (Kinesis, Kafka).
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring for cloud-native applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills focused on scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.
