Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced senior software engineering leader to drive software, data, and architecture practices within a multi-functional team in our Enterprise Technology organization. You will organize Agile processes, set goals with measurable outcomes, and mentor engineers to deliver production-grade systems for spaceflight-related applications.

• 5+ years of proven experience effectively running and leading software development team.
• 5+ year's experience in developing and deploying sophisticated production systems.
• Solid understanding of the software engineering lifecycle including coding standards, configuration management, deployment, testing, and operations.
• Ability to learn and understand the details of any technical component as well as drive the overall systems architecture.
• A track record of delivering technical roadmaps by defining a clear vision of desired business outcomes.

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience effectively running and leading software development team
• 5+ year's experience in developing and deploying sophisticated production systems

• Ability to learn and understand the details of any technical component as well as drive the overall systems architecture
• A track record of delivering technical roadmaps by defining a clear vision of desired business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to translate domain expertise into applications
• Experience developing and delivering solutions in design, manufacturing, and flight operations environments or related skills supporting enterprise operations software with a high focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Background in distributed computing, service/microservice architectures, and enterprise-wide systems and AI tools/technologies

Base Pay Range

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $197,004.00 - $275,805.60 Other site ranges may differ
