Roadtex Transportation is seeking a Regional Operations Leader to oversee production and logistics across multiple transportation sites. You will direct Site Managers, plan daily activities, and drive KPI-driven improvements in efficiency and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages and leads all Site Managers for the Region.
• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations for multi transportation sites.
• Measures productivity by analyzing KPI's, financial data, and activity reports and makes recommendations to senior leadership.
• Coordinates with HR, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
• Directs Terminal Site Managers on shipping and receiving functions.
• Determines labor needs to meet production goals and presents to Regional Director.
• Assists with budget preparation and SOP development.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Addresses transportation issues, such as delays or load discrepancies, with teams.
• Uses TMS and reporting resources to monitor load data and cost metrics.
• Provides regular KPI reports to streamline operational efficiency.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Promotes safety standards in planning and coordination for the Region.

Job Summary

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Directly manages and leads all Site Managers for the Region


• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations for multi transportation sites


• Measures productivity by analyzing KPI's performance data, financial data, and activity reports and make recommendations to senior leadership to improve operational efficiencies


• Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.


• Directs the Terminal Site Managers on shipping and receiving functions


• Determines labor needs to meet production goals for the region and presents to the Regional Director


• Assists with budget preparation for operations unit


• Assists with and collaborates with internal teams on SOP's


• Performs other related duties as required.

  • Is the lead on addressing, resolving, and communicating any transportation issues, such as delays, equipment failures, and load discrepancies to all teams
  
  
  • Proactively identify potential logistics issues and recommend adjustments to minimize impact on customer service

  • Use transportation management systems (TMS) and applicable reporting resources to monitor and analyze load data, shipment statuses, and cost metrics for the Region
  
  
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators like load utilization, delivery timeliness, and cost efficiency to effectively streamline operational efficiencies

Requirements/Skills

• Experience and proven track record in leading and developing a team preferably multi unit


• 7+ years in a leadership role


• Associate's or Bachelors degree in Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred or like experience


• Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.


• Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.


• Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


• Must be self-directed and take initiative to complete tasks


• Ability to implement and partner with Compliance team on safety procedures


• Proven track record in building internal and external partnerships to drive operational efficiencies and in dealing with customer issues and resolution


• Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)


• Ability to maintain/follow quality and safety standards


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, Outlook)


• Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures (UPS, FedEx, Freight)


• Experience with analyzing and reviewing data on incoming and outgoing shipments and making recommendations to enhance the process and grow the business


• Advanced understanding of geographical area and mapping to facilitate efficient routing.


• Solid understanding of shipping industry.
