Job description

Sr. Manager, Program Management – Lanteris Space

We are seeking a senior-level Program Manager to join the Lanteris Program Management Office (PMO) team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will lead all aspects of assigned satellite programs, from the advance proposal stage (Advanced Program Manager) through post-award execution and program completion (Program Manager). You will manage a talented engineering team, coordinate design, production, testing, launch, and in‑orbit delivery, and serve as the primary point of accountability to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and control program activities to ensure that program objectives and customer requirements are achieved from pre‑award acquisition to program completion.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to support business development activities for both commercial and government pursuits, including defining clear technical baselines for factory assessment and program costing.
  • Manage the technical baseline and contractual requirements, ensuring compliance with all obligations.
  • Serve as the primary focal point for customer representatives, exhibiting professionalism and leadership.
  • Ensure integrity, responsiveness, and ethical business practices in all customer dealings.
  • Manage core team personnel and assign program-specific responsibilities to appropriate subsystem organizations.
  • Manage program reserves and work with the program business manager to balance risks and opportunities.
  • Perform program planning risk assessments to identify and mitigate cost and scheduling risks.
  • Coordinate program management and customer decisions with subsystem organizations.
  • Conduct reviews, audits, trade studies, fact-findings, and establish corrective action plans to meet program objectives.
  • Provide timely and thorough program information to executive management.
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (a master’s degree counts as two years of experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, including program management of large‑scale engineering/manufacturing programs.
  • Ability to travel 10‑15% of the time to support customer, supplier, or business development meetings.
  • Strong leadership, communication skills, and sound financial/business acumen.
  • Willingness to be physically present at the local program office in Palo Alto, CA, on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Current or active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Satellite program expertise.
  • Experience with U.S. Government proposal development (e.g., color reviews) and program execution.
  • Knowledge of commercial space architectures, missions, systems, requirements, and acquisition methods.
  • Experience leading a matrixed engineering team in solving challenging problems on complex systems.
Benefits and Compensation

Base salary within California: $163,000.00 – $271,000.00 annually. Additional benefits include paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and a 401(k) plan. Salary ranges are market‑based for other states. The position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results.
