About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Sr. Manager Procurement – Professional Services (Travel, Consulting, Legal, Risk) will be responsible for shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of the assigned categories. This role supports Gap Inc’s NextGen Procurement Transformation, advancing cross-functional engagement and shaping the future of Procurement.
The Sr. Manager will establish partnerships across Gap and with suppliers to collaborate, influence, and be a creative thought partner that consistently delivers value. They will lead and inspire by focusing on developing, implementing, and executing sourcing strategies and processes across Procurement to enable a competitive advantage and maximize ROI. This role will lead 2-4 category managers.
What You'll Do
- Value Capture - Accountable for the development and execution of procurement strategies for Professional Services categories. Responsible for achieving procurement savings targets and creating a multi-year pipeline of projects that deliver ongoing value. Seek industry best practices and innovative solutions to enhance procurement value.
- Sourcing Rigor - Promote a competitive bid culture for Professional Services projects by applying advanced levers and fostering a strong shift in team practices.
- Category Management - Develop deep category strategies that translate into actionable multi-year sourcing plans. Build and develop high-performing category management teams.
- Procurement Technology and Advanced Sourcing Capabilities - Possess strong understanding and experience with procurement technologies (e.g., spend analytics, sourcing, eAuction, CLM). Develop and maintain detailed spend analytics, category segmentation, and supplier profiling to enable opportunity identification and category management.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships - Partner successfully across functions (Travel, Consulting, Legal, Risk Management) and with senior stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to drive results and manage complex change across the enterprise.
- Leverage strong influencing skills - Balance speed, priorities, and urgency while proactively considering new options and driving critical thinking to optimize results.
Who You Are
- Experience – 6-8 years in Procurement within a global company, focused on category management and execution. Demonstrates strategic thinking and expertise in category management.
- Sourcing Capability - Significant experience in driving results through category strategies, leveraging market knowledge, and influencing at all organizational levels.
- Drive for Results - Ability to navigate ambiguity, lead others, and achieve high performance and sustainable results.
- Excellent communication skills – Proficiency in executive-level communication and presentation.
- Change Leadership - Experience leading with and without authority, influencing others, and driving decision-making. Driven by curiosity and innovation.
- In-depth expertise in Category Management - Regularly leverage industry experts, associations, and peers to benchmark and adopt best practices.
