PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $169,200.00-$206,700.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $131,800.00 - $244,400.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As Senior Manager of Technology with a focus on Automation and Performance Testing at BECU, you will be at the forefront of driving our quality initiatives, ensuring the alignment of technology strategies with business goals. You'll modernize our platforms and enhance our digital transformation through the adoption of cutting-edge testing practices. Your leadership and expertise will be critical in driving the shift to more automated, efficient, and scalable solutions. With your focus on agile methodologies and Automated Testing practices, you will play a key role in improving the software development lifecycle and empowering teams to deliver impactful results. Your contributions will ensure that BECU remains a leader in innovation and technology.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Drive Technology Alignment: Ensure that technology and testing initiatives are in sync with BECU's strategic goals—keeping the member and user experience at the center of every solution. Develop business cases and cost/benefit analyses to ensure technology solutions align with organizational objectives.
  • Innovate and Lead: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying market-leading technology and systems testing solutions. Lead in developing RFPs, business cases, and project charters to bring innovative ideas to life.
  • Develop and Mentor Teams: Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to help your team grow and perform at their best. Conduct performance evaluations to foster success.
  • Manage Projects and Delivery: Oversee technical requirements, engineering, and delivery of key projects, ensuring system integration, performance, and stability. Use agile practices to meet business objectives and deliver on time.
  • Collaborate with Business Units: Work with business teams to support technology platforms and align roadmaps with strategic, operational, and tactical goals.
  • Improve Engineering Practices: Lead efforts to improve practices across the software development lifecycle, focusing on system integration, performance testing, automation, and CI/CD practices.
  • Build a Testing-Centered Culture: Promote a quality-first mindset, embedding testing into every development phase.
  • Deliver Test Strategy and Roadmaps: Create and evolve test roadmaps with advanced automation and performance testing approaches.
  • Define and Report Testing Metrics: Provide regular metrics to stakeholders, highlighting your team's impact.
  • Uplift QA Talent and Culture: Mentor testing professionals, foster inclusivity, and promote excellence in systems testing.
  • Build a Testing Center of Excellence: Establish best practices, standards, and methodologies for quality engineering.
  • Ensure Timely Delivery: Oversee project execution, managing risks and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Contribute to Governance and Planning: Participate in governance, planning, and review meetings to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Vendor and Partner Collaboration: Manage vendor relationships and oversee external partner activities.
  • Develop Product Roadmaps: Define and optimize product roadmaps with stakeholders.
  • Foster Continuous Learning: Stay current with technology trends and encourage team growth.
  • Build a High-Performance Team: Promote agility, learning, and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3 years of People Leader experience managing testing teams.
  • 5 years in IT with expertise in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, and performance testing.
  • Domain experience with ERP, Infrastructure/Operations, or financial products.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with performance, scalability, and load testing in cloud/on-prem environments.
  • Building technology platforms and teams.
  • Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber.
  • Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication skills for requirements and technical design discussions.
