The Opportunity
The scope of this Senior Manager Market Access position includes deploying a comprehensive market access and reimbursement strategy for the Molecular Business Unit based out of Lake Forest, IL or Remote in the US.
The hired individual will be responsible for securing Abbott’s Molecular medical policy, coding, and reimbursement through collaboration with key payers, KOLs, and other stakeholders. This person will serve as the SME and field resource for the Americas on Market Access activities. The position is remote, based in any major US city near an airport.
What You'll Work On
- Deliver healthcare economic and clinical data demonstrating the value of Abbott’s Molecular portfolio to secure access via favorable policies and reimbursement.
- Build and maintain relationships with national payer decision-makers and understand the healthcare system and market trends.
- Support field teams in resolving access issues, coding, policy, and reimbursement challenges.
- Collaborate with clinicians and advocates to support Abbott initiatives impacting payors and policies.
- Attend conferences to understand healthcare landscape and interact with decision-makers.
- Understand Abbott’s business model, value proposition, and the regulatory landscape.
- Participate in third-party support initiatives with partners.
- Communicate effectively and build relationships with sales teams to align on market needs.
- This role requires cross-functional collaboration and up to 25% travel within the US.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in Market Access or reimbursement industry.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% within the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Market Access concepts and the healthcare ecosystem (Health Plans, Lab Benefit Managers, Health Systems, Physician offices).
- Understanding of clinical and pharmacoeconomic concepts, health outcomes, and clinical trial designs.
- Experience with point-of-care molecular diagnostic platforms or medical benefit products is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to convey business insights to stakeholders.
- Ability to identify customer needs and deliver solutions effectively.
- Exceptional collaboration, influencing, and project management skills.
- MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA, or relevant clinical certifications are preferred.

The base pay for this position is $127,300 – $254,700. Pay range may vary by location.
