The Ask
The Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for the reliable, secure, and cost-effective operation of corporate technology services while leading the modernization and simplification of Harte Hanks’ infrastructure environment. This role oversees infrastructure and cloud operations, networking, systems engineering, workplace technology, service delivery, and key service providers. The Senior Manager translates the enterprise technology roadmap into measurable execution, with particular emphasis on data center exit, cloud and SaaS adoption, infrastructure consolidation, operational resilience, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
You are a practical, hands-on technology leader who can operate today’s hybrid environment while deliberately reducing legacy complexity. You combine strong operational discipline with sound technical judgment, financial accountability, vendor management, and the ability to lead distributed teams through change. You know when to standardize, automate, outsource, consolidate, or retire technology, and you can balance modernization objectives with service continuity, security, compliance, and business needs. You communicate clearly with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and senior leaders, and you build a culture of ownership, transparency, customer service, and continuous learning.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and develop a distributed team responsible for infrastructure, cloud, systems, networking, workplace technology, service delivery, and operational support.
- Maintain stable, secure, and resilient IT operations while driving a structured program to reduce legacy infrastructure and operational complexity.
- Manage execution of the data center exit and infrastructure consolidation roadmap, including workload assessment, migration, decommissioning, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
- Advance cloud-first and SaaS-first operating models where they provide measurable improvements in cost, scalability, resilience, security, and supportability.
- Oversee corporate network services and connectivity, including deeper adoption and optimization of our Cato networking, while rationalizing site-based firewalls, switching, and other physical infrastructure where practical.
- Own operational governance and cost management across Azure, AWS, SaaS platforms, network services, and infrastructure vendors, including budgeting, forecasting, utilization optimization, contract performance, and identification of savings opportunities.
- Manage third-party vendors and support providers, ensuring responsibilities, service levels, deliverables, costs, risks, and performance expectations are clearly defined and met.
- Establish effective monitoring, observability, alerting, incident response, problem management, change control, and service continuity practices across cloud and remaining on-premises environments.
- Partner with information security to ensure infrastructure, identity, endpoint, network, and cloud services comply with company policies, control requirements, and recognized security practices.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity capabilities appropriate to the company’s technology risk profile.
- Work with senior IT leadership to convert enterprise technology strategy into prioritized, achievable initiatives with clear outcomes, owners, milestones, costs, dependencies, and risks.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to distinguish technical support needs from training, adoption, or process support and improve routing, ownership, and the overall employee support experience.
- Ensure services, projects, and modernization initiatives are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
- Define and document standards, operational procedures, reference patterns, support models, inventories, and service ownership across the technology environment.
- Establish and report meaningful SLAs, OLAs, KPIs, operational risks, and modernization progress measures.
- Use Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related Atlassian capabilities to manage operational work, projects, documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Promote practical use of automation, infrastructure as code, artificial intelligence, and modern operations practices to reduce manual work and improve service quality.
- Support audits and compliance activities, including SOX, PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, and client control requests, as applicable.
- Occasionally interact with Harte Hanks clients regarding technology operations, controls, or modernization initiatives.
