Job description

Position Purpose

Implements HR plans and programs to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources in assigned departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve general associate relations issues, gather information for investigations, address turnover, and identify trends and problems.
  • Identify breaches of culture/values that impact the workplace and support consistency in the practice of SOP and employment law.
  • Manage succession planning, management development, and performance management in assigned area; provide tools and facilitate meetings (e.g., 360‑degree feedback) and follow‑up.
  • Advise management on organization structure changes and decisions; provide tools (climate surveys, town‑hall meetings, etc.) to drive cultural change.
  • Provide and train management on selection, staffing resources, and tools; raise awareness of diversity and methods to increase quality and diversity of candidate pool; plan, coordinate, and attend job fairs if needed.
  • Counsel and coach management on personnel issues, leadership, and management effectiveness.
  • Represent HR in corporate‑wide initiatives; conduct training classes on HR issues and associate orientations; manage HR projects as required.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
  • Reports to a Human Resources Vice President or a Director of Human Resources.
  • Typically has no direct reports but may provide functional leadership to others who report to another manager; senior HR managers may have up to five staff reports.
  • Negotiates in competitive or adversarial environments, evaluates complex situations, considers new approaches within general policies, and determines priorities and execution plans when given general assignments.
Travel Requirements
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
  • Most of the time is spent sitting; occasional movement or lifting of light items may be required.
Working Conditions
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area; infrequent unpleasant conditions.
  • Requires intermittent periods of concentration and focused attention using low‑intensity senses.
  • Constant pressure to meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas, and irregular difficult situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Must pass the drug test.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Five to eight years of experience in Human Resources is preferred.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
