Job summary

Continental Electronics Corporation seeks a Sr. Manager of Firmware/FPGA Engineering to lead a skilled team delivering DSP and control solutions for advanced RF transmitter systems. You will monitor execution, mitigate risks, and provide clear status to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in firmware/FPGA, embedded systems, and digital design, with strong leadership and cross-functional coordination. Some travel and eligibility for a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with 10 or more years of relevant Firmware, FPGA, embedded systems, or digital design experience.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing Firmware, FPGA, digital design, or cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to translate high-level requirements into task plans, priorities, milestones, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, delegation, accountability, feedback, development, and workload balancing.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and support Firmware/FPGA staff to ensure individual and team success; support goal setting and objective definition to create development plans and oversee the performance assessment process
  • Translate system and program requirements into clear engineering tasks, priorities, schedules, assignments, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes
  • Monitor execution, balance workload, remove barriers, manage risks, and drive corrective actions to meet commitments
  • Provide clear status to senior leadership regarding schedule, risks, blockers, staffing needs, and delivery forecasts
  • Drive cross-functional coordination with hardware, software, project engineering, program management, and manufacturing to align requirements, interfaces, priorities, and handoffs
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct. Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company’s values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies

The Sr. Manager of Firmware/FPGA Engineering will lead the team of Firmware and FPGA engineers to deliver complex DSP and control solutions for advanced RF transmitter systems. The Sr. Manager will monitor execution, remove barriers, define risks & mitigation plans, and provide clear status and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Some travel will be required
  • Selected candidates must be able to obtainand maintain aSecret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment.

  • Proven ability to translate high-level requirements into task plans, priorities, milestones, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience building strong engineering teams
  • Experience with engineering planning, schedule tracking, risk management, status reporting, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination
  • Technical credibility in FPGA, firmware, embedded systems, hardware/software interfaces, integration, debug, and release processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams through change and handle conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Some travel will be required

Pay may range from $180,000 to $195,000 annually

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

  • Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
  • You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
